Hello again fellow bloggers and readers! It sure has been awhile since I last blogged but I have been quite busy since my last post and I also just wasn’t feeling very bloggy until today. My last post I wrote about Rescate Malix and Charlotte (Charly), a stray dog that myself and some of my neighbours were taking care of for the last few months, and I had hoped to find a loving family for her.Well, I am happy to report that Charly has found a home at last! About two weeks ago hubby and I pulled into our parking spot and saw an American couple leaving some food for Charly and we all started chatting. To make a long story short Tom and Suzy volunteered to take care of Charly for a few days and when it was time to get her again Suzy informed me that even though they already had two dogs, one of which they adopted off the street, they had decided to give Charly a permanent home.I was overjoyed.
My Christmas wish had come true! Since that day I have gone by to visit Charly in her new home to see how she was doing and to drop off some food and treats. I spent an enjoyable hour with Suzy, Tom and my Mom sipping wine in their backyard watching Charly roughhouse with Dylan (their adopted stray) and chatting about the ups and downs of living in Mexico. Tom is a fellow blogger, http://www.cancuntom.com/,who writes about being a retired ex-pat in Cancun, and Suzy, who belongs to the International Women’s Club here in Cancun, graciously invited my Mom to one of their monthly breakfast meetings. When it was time to go I gazed into Charly’s big beautiful brown eyes (hopefully not for the last time) and scratched her tummy like I always used to do when I saw her sleeping next to my truck, and bid farewell to her adopted family. Thank you Suzy and Tom you will never know how grateful I am to you both for opening your home to Charly.
Next post- Christmas and New Years….better late than never. All the best in 2011 everyone!
